And even the ones who owe their success to those markets had other realistic alternatives to reach their goals. that have launched and sold a successful product etc. You can probably think of a thousand artists, manufacturers, developers, etc. Amazon, Ebay, Uber, Playstation, Xbox, Spotify (as an artist), etc. Either you give up privacy (and pay the price) or you pay directly. Almost every other regulated platform works more or less the same way though. I wasn't talking about the classic OS flavors in this context.
